About Reliographie

I am Raphael, a photographer based in Berlin, Germany. Photography is not my job I pay the bills with, quite the opposite as it’s just a leisure tool to free my mind, to express bits of how I see the world and to create something that is not yet part of it.

I mostly shoot nude art, not for the sake of nudity but to create timeless moments that capture the expressions and creation of how the mind moves the body while the context throws its lights and shadows on it.

I started taking photography a bit more serious while in university. I had to read and write so much that I lost a little fun in my free time on it but needed another way to express and distract myself from reality and that’s how and why I started photography.

And I continued taking pictures even though I wasn’t very talented. It took me a couple of years until I became confident that I would be able to create with models and create something more than just the beauty in front of the camera. Before I shot only street and landscape but always wanted to move into people and nude art photography. I started with self-portraits and some friends, so no real stranger have been harmed in the process of learning how to capture a moment in its beaty. But mastering my eye, my cameras, the light and all-around that to create something that doesn’t look cheap took me years and years.

I try to shoot regularly but sometimes my job doesn’t allow this and that’s fine. Photography is a hobby and I treat it like that. While I always thrive for pushing my art, my limits and the possibilities to draw with a camera on film and sensor, the time spent should be fun and not feel like work.

I have rented a little studio in Berlin for a couple of days per month. So if you are interested in shooting with me get in contact (for now via Twitter or Instagram). I will write down and link here how shootings with me work, and what you need to bring with you. And that’s basically no more than the will to create.

I shoot all legal ages, all forms, genders without any restriction. I don’t care if you fit into any averages or not. I care only about if we have a sort of aligned understanding what kind of art we want to create, what purpose and if we both have time.

I created this website because Instagram gets more and more censored and while I do not shoot pornography I do not see the female nipple as a threat to society and while Twitter is a better place, it’s not a place to showcase photography very well. And I want to force myself to choose 5-10 pictures from a shoot and post them here.

I might write a bit about my setup, studio, cameras and fun around photography but for now I will use it simply as an extended portfolio. That’s it.
